Interesting pictures of the disguising of the Lockheed factory in Burbank during WWII. I guess it helped being close to Hollywood.

The Fokker factory was camouflaged in a similar way when still based in the northern part of Amsterdam during the war.

The Connie & P-38’s are nicely hidden under the camouflage netting, but I like the cars the most. Really some interesting ones in the parking lot.
The problem with any kind of camouflage is to always keep it the same color as the surrounding live vegetation during the different seasons. If this fails one can pick out the hidden areas faster than one normally would.

Drove past the southern end of Burbank airprt a couple of weeks back, The former Vega works has now been replaced by what appears to be the Yahoo! world HQ.. 🙁

The same idea was applied to the Avro Shadow Factory at Yeadon Near Leeds.it had rural scenes(Fields etc) on the roof complete with dummy cows and they were inspected and touched up regularly(dont go there)it was the largest camoflauging operation carried out over here during the war,also nearby Yeadon Tarn was drained as yeadon featured in the famous Biedecker Tours book 😎 😎 😎
