We had already decided to visit the war tunnels and occupation museum (her idea not mine suprisingly enough!) and also visit the war hospital on Jersey. We’ve seen on quite a few photos of the coast on both islands that there appears to be a reasonably number of WWII pillboxes scattered along the shoreline.
Are there any other sites (specifically aviation related) I, err we can visit during our time there?

There are two aviation related memorials on Jersey, one at Noirmont point on the south coast and the other behind the Zoo in the Parish of Trinity. There are also many memorial stones scattered around the island these include one to Captain Ayton who lead the only raid to Jersey and another to the crew of an American PT boat.

Pity you couldn’t bring your wedding forward a couple of weeks.

I hope the weather’s good for you during your stay, I can see from my desk that the sun is shining here in St Helier at the moment and is forecast to do so for the next week or so.

Unfortunately the same can’t be said about Jersey’s 13th parish, Guernsey, where it’s a bit like the Midlands, lots of rain with the addition of a population that all share the same passport photograph.

Mind you their occupation museum is superb and not as commercial as the Jersey War Tunnels. If you do nothing else during your stay in Guernsey, make sure you drop in there, quite a bit of aviation content.
