Airbus Defence and Space has recently completed the 100th delivery of its A400M Atlas heavy-lift tactical transport with this example being handed over to the Ejército del Aire (EdA, Spanish Air Force).
This A400M – serial T.23-10/10219 ’31-30’ (c/n 111) – was the tenth example to be handed over to the EdA, as well as being the 100th production aircraft to be delivered to a customer nation. It was formally handed over to the Spanish air arm on May 24, when it arrived at Zaragoza Air Base to join Ala 31 (31 Wing).

During the same week, the type also surpassed 100,000 flight hours – which was accumulated by the platform’s eight customer nations. At present, these operators comprise Belgium; France; Germany; Luxembourg; Malaysia; Spain; Turkey and the UK.
In a May 25 press release, Airbus also stated the A400M had recently conducted a key helicopter air-to-air refuelling certification flight test campaign in coordination with the French Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA, Directorate General of Armaments). During which, the platform completed the majority of its certification objectives, including the first simultaneous refuelling of two helicopters.
