Airport Authority Hong Kong incentivises vaccination after employee mandate

The operator hopes the air ticket draw will provide a vaccination incentive for residents

Hong Kong Airport is holding a lucky air ticket draw for local residents who are vaccinated.

Registration for the draw of 50,000 air tickets, sponsored by Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA), will start on September 16.

The draw was initiated by the AA to encourage members of the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Between September 16 and 30, all vaccinated Hong Kong residents holding a valid identity card are able to register with Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Express to partake in the lucky draw for the 50,000 round trip economy class air tickets from Hong Kong to destinations in different regions.

Cathay Pacific and HK Express are set to announce the winners in mid-October. Winners will then individually receive information from the airlines on how to access their free tickets.

A further 10,000 air tickets will be given away to staff of Hong Kong International Airport who are vaccinated. This will, again, be done through a lucky draw.

Starting September 1, airport staff can register for the lucky draw of the 10,000 tickets through their respective employer.
