A Royal Australian Air Force Boeing E-7A Wedgetail A30-002, touched down at RAF Lossiemouth today (February 16, 2024).

The airborne early warning and control aircraft is operated by 2 Sqn at RAAF Base Williamtown. The Wegdetail arrived from Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

An RAF Lossiemouth spokesperson told Key.Aero: “A Royal Australian Air Force E-7 Wedgetail aircraft landed at RAF Lossiemouth today as part of its planned return journey to Australia. It was a scheduled landing following the aircraft and crew deployment to Germany as part of Operation Kudu, where it provided early warning of any threats aiding in the protection of multinational logistic hubs that supply critical support into Ukraine.” They added: “The aircraft is planned to depart RAF Lossiemouth over the weekend.”

This E-7A flew into Ramstein on October 19, 2023, to start missions for Operation Kudu. A replacement, A30-006, arrived at the German base on February 11 to take over duties from A30-002.
