The airline will operate four connections from Belfast this summer supporting links between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK

British Airways will start services from George Best Belfast City Airport over the next few months, to serve Exeter, Leeds Bradford, Newquay and Glasgow.

The new connections come following the collapse of airline Stobart Air on June 11, leading to the loss of twelve routes from Belfast, operated by the carrier on behalf of Aer Lingus Regional.

The airline’s subsidiary BA CityFlyer will be operating eighteen flights per week utilising its fleet of Embraer E190 aircraft. The services will run alongside existing British Airways routes from Belfast to London/City and London/Heathrow.

Tom Stoddart, managing director of BA CityFlyer, said: “We’re delighted to announce these new services from Belfast, which will enhance our regional network and maintain vital connections between Northern Ireland and other key UK destinations. We’re sure these routes will be popular with customers getting away for a UK holiday this summer, as well as those visiting friends and relatives.”

The flag carrier has priced the routes competitively as prices start from around £48 one-way.
