CAC Winjeel takes flight in MSFS

Ant's Airplanes has upgraded the CAC Winjeel to full Microsoft Flight Simulator compatibility adding improved graphic and model details. The aircraft was previously released for FSX/Prepar3D in 2016.

The Winjeel is a fixed undercarriage taildragger powered by a 450hp Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior radial engine and was the primary piston trainer for the Royal Australian Air Force between 1955 and 1975. It also saw service as a Forward Air Control (FAC) role during the Vietnam War. After almost 40 years, the Winjeel was replaced by Pilatus PC-9 turboprops in the 1990s.

The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator features two basic models, standard and FAC, each sporting vintage and modern versions with custom sounds and pilot models. Other details include persistent settings so fuel and oil levels are saved between flights, three levels of engine starter realism and spark plug fouling.

A pop-up tablet can be used to set aircraft preferences and operate a simple autopilot (a non-standard feature on real aircraft). A pop-up GPS is available to aid with navigation. It is available on simMarket for € 19.80 (approx £17).
