Aircraft developer Carenado has released the C170B for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Introduced in 1952, the four-seat, single-engine taildragger was developed from earlier versions of the Cessna 170. It became popular with private pilots, commuters, cargo haulers, flight schools and bush pilots.

The Carenado 170B includes two types, a regular and a tundra model. The tundra variant can take off and land on beaches, river sand bars, deep in mountain valleys — anywhere suitable, no airport required. It sports PBR (Physically Based Rendering) effects inside and out, realistic flight dynamics and high-fidelity stereo acoustics recorded from the real aircraft.

Six liveries are included as well as a portable Garmin GPS, King KX-165 NAV/COM avionics and a King KT-76A transponder. The aircraft can be started in a cold and dark state, ready to taxi, or ready for take-off. An accompanied tablet interface can be used for controlling static elements toggling pilots on/off, fairings, and doors.

The Carenado C170B is available today on the Microsoft Flight Simulator marketplace.
