Chipmunk pair find new homes in Belgium

Two DHC Chipmunks are under new ownership in Belgium

Both of the classic DHC light aircraft had previously served in Denmark.

Chipmunk Mk.22 C1/0104 joined the Belgian register as OO-CII on January 3. The former Royal Danish Air Force machine served from 1950 until 1976 when it was sold to Sweden acquiring the civil registration SE-GRK. It changed hands several times until bought by a trio of pilots in Belgium. It was ferried to Antwerp, its current base, in August 2023 and has been repainted to depict a Belgian Air Force example with the serial ‘C-2’.

A second former Royal Danish Air Force example, C1/0702, is currently flying in Belgium as F-AZCH though there are plans to re-register it as OO-VNL. It was restored to fly in France and currently represents WB557, in Royal Air Force colours. With thanks to Laurent Heyligen
