Condor’s first Airbus A330neo was damaged during an incident at Toulouse yesterday (December 12).

The yet-to-be delivered widebody D-ANRA (c/n 1966), struck a building while being towed at the French airport.

A spokesperson for the airline said: “[The aircraft] was damaged at the winglet during a routine ground towing operation in Toulouse this afternoon. Airbus experts are now investigating the damage in order to provide an assessment as soon as possible.”

The twinjet is due for delivery to Condor soon and was expected to enter service as early as December 18.

However, a spokesperson for the German leisure carrier confirmed that a delay in delivery “cannot be ruled out” at this stage.

“As the investigation by Airbus is still ongoing, no final information is available yet,” the statement added.

Sporting a green striped livery, the jet first flew on November 28 and is the first of 16 examples that Condor ordered in July last year.

The carrier will operate the A330neo on its international long-haul network to the Americas, Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia.
