Vultures Row Aviation a warbird restoration facility specialising in US Navy tailhook-equipped aircraft, has posted a report on one of its Corsair projects:

“Progress continues on one of the many Corsairs under restoration to fly. These pics are of F4U-1 ‘Birdcage’ Corsair BuNo 02449. Hydraulics, more riveting (it never ends), more spot welding (it never ends) and wings are getting ready for final riveting and assembly. All hydraulic lines are fabricated and installed in the centre wing section leading into the cockpit. Foot troughs and rudder pedals are installed. Up next are hydraulics, fuel and wiring all in the cockpit as well as more work to finish the mid/aft section. Work continues in the wing programme on eight wings.”

The company, which is owned by Chuck Wahl and based in Cameron Park, California, adds that it currently has job opportunities available.
