Cougar is spruced up at Texan museum

Work to repaint Grumman F-9F8 Cougar 131063 is now under way at Slaton’s Texas Air Museum

Previously at the Pate Museum in Cresson Texas, the jet has been displayed in the overall blue finish with grey and orange livery that it wore during its operational life. This example of the swept wing Cougar has an elongated nose that housed the camera when it became a ‘prototype’ for the reconnaissance version and was duly branded an F-9F8P. Hopefully the state’s traditionally mild winters will enable staff to complete the project over the next few months. With thanks to Rod Weale
