Deadline approaches for Coachmakers flying scholarship

Applicants sought for chance to obtain PPL training on Cambridge Tiger Moths

Applications for the latest Worshipful Company of Coachmakers’ and Coach Harness Makers’ Flying Scholarship are open until 16 June. The Coachmakers is a City of London Livery Company raising and distributing charitable funds to help young people make a start on their careers, predominantly within the aerospace, automotive and coach-making industries.

2023 is the ninth year of the scholarship which offers training to private pilot’s licence standard on the de Havilland DH82A Tiger Moths of the Cambridge Flying Group. Applicants are to be from 18-30 years of age, resident in the UK and not previously been awarded any such bursary (with the exception of the 12-hour Air Cadet scholarship). Applicants are sought from those with an affinity for vintage and historic aerospace, either as an ambition or perhaps already working in a voluntary, full-time or part-time capacity. Interviews for the shortlisted candidates will take place on Saturday 5 August.
