Departing TUI 737 cleared road by less than 100ft
The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) published a Special Bulletin regarding a “serious incident” at Bristol Airport on March 4, 2024, involving TUI Airways Boeing 737-8K5, G-FDZS (c/n 35147), operating to Las Palmas with six crew and 163 passengers aboard.According to the bulletin, the aircraft rotated from Runway 09 with only 260m of runway remaining and flew at an altitude of approximately ten feet over the end of the runway.The AAIB summarised: “The autothrottle (A/T) disengaged when the take-off
