The airport has undergone multiple construction projects over the last 18 months supporting more than 4,000 jobs

The Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW) Board has approved plans for the renovation and expansion of Terminal C at the hub.

The projects are expected to cost around $2bn (£1.4bn) and are part of the ongoing investment at the facility and in the region.

“The goal is to transform Terminal C, which has stood in service at the airport since the early 70s, into a modern terminal with the latest technologies and infrastructure,” said Sean Donohue, DFW Airport CEO. “DFW is providing for the anticipated growth of our partner, American Airlines, while also elevating the customer experience to meet the needs of the modern traveller.”

Currently, there are ongoing developments taking place at the hub, as well as recently completed renovations. These include the reconstruction of the High C gates, Terminal D gate expansion, the opening of the integrated operations centre and the upgrades on runways and taxiways.

According to the airport, these projects have helped support more than 4,000 jobs over the past 18 months.

Terminal C’s renovation plans are expected to take place in phases to minimise the risk of customer disruption and inconvenience. Works are set to be completed in 2026.
