The Microsoft Flight Simulator team has announced the Dune expansion pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available as a free download.

The expansion pack was released to coincide with the launch of the film Dune: Part Two by Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures. Microsoft Flight Simulator pilots can fly the Royal Atreides Ornithopter in both free flight anywhere on the planet Arrakis and take part in a series of training missions and challenges.

These include three tutorials: take-off landing, and freefall. Once the basics have been mastered, you can attempt six activities: five time trials and a rescue mission in a sandstorm.

To mark the release of the Dune expansion pack, Microsoft and Xbox are offering a specially designed Xbox Series S console, designed to capture the colours of Arrakis, and a floating Xbox Controller as a giveaway.
