El museo de Pembroke Dock gana un premio al patrimonio

The Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust has become the first Welsh recipient of the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Heritage Award.

Just 26 other awards have been made by the society in the past 14 years, and Pembroke Dock joins an illustrious group of award-winners. For nearly 30 years Pembroke Dock was an RAF station and in wartime became the largest flying boat station in the world with 99 such aircraft, mostly Short Sunderlands, recorded in 1943. Pembroke Dock has long connections with all three armed services, reflected in displays at the town’s Heritage Centre, which is run by the trust.

The Heritage Award, in the form of a plaque, was jointly unveiled by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed, Col Martin Green, and Gp Capt Mike Hawkins of the RAeS.
