Emirates has unveiled its new livery to adorn its fleet marking the third iteration of the carrier’s livery since 1985.

The refreshed livery boasts a change to the UAE flag on the tail, with a more dynamic and flowing 3D effect. Wingtips have also received an update, now painted red with the Emirates signature Arabic calligraphy logo painted white.

Passengers with a view over the wing will also note the UAE flag has been painted on the inboard portion of the wingtips.

All aircraft will maintain the red company branding on the underside whilst also benefitting from a change to the carrier’s iconic gold lettering, which is now bolder and 32.5% larger.

Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, said: “Aircraft livery is the most instantly recognisable brand real estate for any airline. It’s a visual representation of our unique identity, something we wear proudly, and display in all the cities we fly to around the world.

“We’re refreshing our livery to keep it modern, without losing the key elements of our identity such as the UAE flag on our tailfin and the Arabic calligraphy.”

The first aircraft to receive the refreshed livery is Airbus A380-861 A6-EOE (c/n 169), and will have its first passenger-carrying flight in the new scheme as EK51 to Munich on Friday March 17, 2023.

Emirates said it plans to roll the new livery out to 24 aircraft, including 17 Boeing 777s, by the end of 2023, with the entire fleet gradually receiving the scheme.

All new deliveries will also feature the new scheme, including Emirates’ first Airbus A350 due in August 2024.
