Etihad Airways unveils new US destination

UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways has announced a new destination in the United States with four weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Boston beginning next year.

This addition is the fourth North American city on the airline’s roster – complementing existing services to Chicago, New York, Washington and Toronto – and will be operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from March 31, 2024.

"We are delighted to introduce flights to Boston, which opens up Abu Dhabi to visitors from the American Northeast and across the United States," said Antonoaldo Neves, chief executive officer of Etihad Airways. “We eagerly await welcoming guests to our extraordinary home as well as offering them access to our growing global network.”

In addition to providing nonstop access to the Boston market, Etihad will offer connections to cities throughout North America through its codeshare partnership with jetBlue.

The quartet of weekly Boston flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The news comes just days after the airline reintroduced the Airbus A380 into service following a pandemic-induced pause. On July 25, the superjumbo operated flight EY11 from Abu Dhabi to London/Heathrow. For now, the UK capital is the only destination to be served by the carrier’s A380s.
