F-2B CRASH FOR JASDF
WORLD Dino van Doorn A TWO-SEAT MITSUBISHI F-2B fighter of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) crashed into the Sea of Japan, around 81 miles (130km) north-east of Tsuiki Air Base, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, during a routine combat training mission at around 09.18hrs local time on February 20. Both pilots on board ejected safely and were recovered by the crew of a rescue helicopter. The aircraft involved was reported as F-2B serial 73-8132, seen here on finals to Matshushima AB.
