F-35C Lightning II used in combat for the first time
According to a US DoD press release on November 12, the F-35C Lightning II was used in combat for the first time recently. Strikes were conducted against Houthi targets in Yemen and also ISIS targets in Syria. It is believed that the F-35Cs were from the US Marine Corps aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln which is currently in the Red Sea. The F-35C, the carrier capable variant of the fifth-generation fighter now joins the A and B models
