‘Faux fighters’ at Culdrose
The new F-35B ground training aids at RNAS Culdrose. The models are fitted with water tanks that simulate fuel and weapons loads for a total weight of between 16 and 24 tonnes. Bob Sharples AIRCRAFT HANDLER training at RNAS Culdrose is making use of four new ‘F-35Bs’. The 1:1- scale fibreglass models were manufactured by Gate Guards UK for the Royal Naval School of Flight Deck Operations. The F-35B training models will be used alongside existing Sea Harriers and helicopters
