First AN/TPY-4 air defence radar completes production

The first AN/TPY-4 long-range air defence radar has completed production, manufacturer Lockheed Martin announced in early May. The milestone paves the way for deliveries under the US Air Force’s (USAF’s) Three Dimensional Expeditionary Long Range Radar (3DELRR) Rapid Prototyping programme and also for export sales. A March 29 $75m USAF contract modification covers the production of an initial two 3DELRR radars, under which the work is expected to be completed by January 29, 2024, for a total cumulative contract value
