First RNZAF C-130H heads to museum after fleet retired
The Royal New Zealand Air Force’s (RNZAF) 40 Squadron flew Lockheed C-130H(NZ) Hercules NZ7001 to the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Wigram, outside Christchurch, on February 19, 2025. The Hercules arrived at Wigram from RNZAF Base Auckland at Whenuapai, north-west of Auckland City, where it – and the RNZAF’s four other C-130H(NZ)s – NZ7002, NZ7003, NZ7004 and NZ7005 – had been retired on January 31, 2025. The five aircraft were withdrawn after conducting flypasts in late January 2025
