Flypasts mark retirement of RAF Puma fleet
On March 31, 2025, the RAF retired its last examples of the Westland Puma after almost 54 years of continuous service. Farewell flypasts were undertaken at the Puma HC2’s final three operating locations – Brunei, Cyprus and across the United Kingdom. Until the official retirement, the helicopter was operated by 230 Squadron from Medicina Lines in Brunei; from RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, with 84 Squadron and at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire, by aircrew of 22, 28 and 33 Squadrons.
