Fuselage Boost for Short Stirling Project
The fuselage of a Short Stirling bomber has recently arrived in the UK. The Stirling Aircraft Project has announced its latest acquisition, the fuselage section of Short Stirling Mk.IV LK142 from the Musée du Terrain d’Aviation de Condé-Vraux 1939-1945, a French museum that’s due to close soon.Delivered to the RAF between May and July 1944, LK142 was accepted by 196 Squadron at Keevil, Wiltshire, soon after and assigned the unit code ‘5T-A’.
