Gatwick’s pier expansion plans unveiled
London/Gatwick has revealed updated plans regarding its £140m extension to its mid-airfield pier. Known as Pier 6, the extension will add eight new aircraft gates, enabling seven-and-a-half million passengers to board and disembark directly onto aircraft each year. In turn, this will remove the need to coach 500,000 passengers to remote stands, cutting 12,000 bus journeys.
