Greek airpower on show during Independence Day flypast
An impressive flypast of 54 aircraft over Athens formed the aerial part of Greece’s Independence Day celebrations on March 25, 2025. The date commemorates the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821. The centre of Athens was cordoned off as the Hellenic armed forces paraded through the streets with a range of military vehicles including tanks. The first in-service aircraft in the flypast were these four F-16C Fighting Falcons from 335 Mira at Araxos. All photos Dino CarraraPrior
