Heathrow installs new fencing to increase security

The system is set to enhance protection against any potential vehicle-borne attacks

Heathrow Airport has installed new perimeter fencing to increase security at the site.

It is hoped that the new hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) fence at the London hub will provide extra protection against any potential threats.

Hardstadd Barriers worked alongside Fernden Fencing to install the ZoneGuard PLUS HVM system.

All the components of the fence were assembled off-site to limit construction time at the airport. It also offers pedestrian and vehicle access gates within the barrier run.

“We are delighted that our ZoneGuard PLUS HVM system has been installed at Heathrow Airport and that Hardstaff is providing solutions to improve the security of Britain’s largest airport,” said Nigel Bullock solutions manager at Hardstaff Barriers.
