Douglas C-47A T.3-28/744-28 has been moved to a new base in Salamanca Spain after 43 years on display at the Desguaces Montero scrapyard.
It hasn’t gone far; the exhibit has been transported a few miles down the N-620 road with its owner, which has relocated its premises.
The former USAAF 42-24052 is currently in three pieces and is being kept in open storage – it is destined to be raised on to poles and put on show.

Also on the move in Spain is CASA/MBB Bolkow Bo-105 HA.15-47/ET-316. Formerly at the Spanish Army Aviation’s Almagro base, it was taken by road to a technical school in Albacete on May 18.
The 1980-built helicopter is one of the last Batallón de Helicópteros de Ataque I [BHELA-I, attack helicopter battalion] machines in service and has been in storage at Almagro since withdrawal in December 2017.
