Italian squadrons mark centenary

THE AERONAUTICA Militare (Italian Air Force) celebrated the 100th anniversary of five of its most famous fighter squadrons on June 24: the IX Gruppo (9th Squadron), belonging to the 4° Stormo (4th Wing), based at Grosseto; the X and XII Gruppo, both belonging to the 36° Stormo, Gioia del Colle; the XIII Gruppo, from the 32° Stormo at Amendola; and the XVIII Gruppo, from the 37° Stormo at Trapani.
