La exposición Gales y la Batalla de Inglaterra, en línea

Following the conclusion of the touring Wales and the Battle of Britain exhibition the RAF plans to take the resources online

On the 200th and final day of the tour, Air Commodore Williams, Air Officer Wales, welcomed several distinguished guests to the exhibition, which was on show at the Houses of Parliament on January 11.

The Wales and the Battle of Britain tour of Wales began in September 2021 with the Chief of the Air Staff, ACM Sir Mike Wigston and Welsh Government Minister Hannah Blythyn MS opening the event at Cardiff’s City Hall. It has since visited 27 different locations around Wales and has been seen by over 15,000 people.

With the exhibition tour now complete, the RAF Museum plans to take the resources online, enabling those who could not visit in person to see it on the internet. Associated with the plan is a new initiative to recognise RAF Battle of Britain pilots from Wales. At RAF Valley, 72 Squadron, which flew Spitfires in the Battle of Britain, and was commanded by Welshman Sqn Ldr Edward Graham from Ebbw Vale, have named their headquarters building the 'Graham Building.' RAF Valley has also named a number of their current Texan aircraft after Welsh Battle of Britain pilots.

Among many other plans, Llandudno Town Council is planning to name one of its streets after Llandudno-born Sgt Glyn Griffiths, who became an 'ace' during the Battle of Britain, contributing to the destruction of 10 enemy aircraft.
