Legendary Spitfire pilot Carolyn Grace dies

The historic aviation world is mourning a trailblazing operator and pilot

As FlyPast closed for press we learned of the tragic loss of legendary Spitfire operator and pilot Carolyn Grace in a car accident on December 2.

Her accolades are too numerous to list here but everyone will remember her perfectly judged displays in Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX ML407 and her determination to keep this historic machine flying following the loss of husband Nick. Carolyn is simply a legend of the historic aviation community. Our thoughts are with Richard, Olivia, and all the Grace family.
