Global aviation logistics specialists, Menzies has announced that it has acquired the ground handling contract to serve new Norwegian airline, Flyr at its base in Oslo.
The company is also set to carry out services for the carrier at Nice/Cote d’Azur Airport.

Passenger flights operated by the airline are to begin tomorrow (June 30) and will offer domestic and international routes from Oslo to other European leisure destinations, with its first departure being to Tromso in Norway.
“Throughout the whole tender process, Menzies Aviation showed a willingness to work with us to take the airport experience to a new level, while being responsive and creative in their approach to our visions and goals,” said Bjorn Erik Barman-Jenssen, chief ground operations officer at Flyr.
“I look forward to working with Menzies to further develop this partnership and create a new norm for a friendly and hassle-free airport experience.”
Michael Gomez Sjunnesson, executive vice president at Menzies Aviation, also added that the company “look forward to developing a long-term relationship with Flyr”.
The three-year agreements include passenger, ramp and de-icing services.
