The Microsoft Flight Simulator development team has announced Aircraft and Avionics Update I is now available to download.

The update introduces a host of improvements to the default aircraft and avionics. Firstly the Garmin GNS 430 and GNS 530 have been upgraded to bring them closer to their real-world counterparts. Some of the highlights include RNAV support with departure, arrival, and approach procedures, vertical guidance, GPS satellite simulation and an accurate ADS-B Traffic Avoidance System.

The Cessna Citation CJ4 avionics now feature independent MFD and FMS, coupled VNAV, improved autopilot, cabin pressurisation and FMS performance calculations for takeoff and landing speeds and integrated dual engine FADEC systems as well as flight model improvements.

The Garmin G3000 and G5000 units have had a comprehensive visual overhaul with accurate font and symbology, including a Garmin Touch Controller, advanced flight plan support and coupled VNAV.

The TBM 930 also now supports coupled basic VNAV, as found in the real aircraft, a highly accurate EIS (Electronic Instrument System), more accurate synoptic pages and operational cockpit and cabin doors

Finally, the Cessna Citation Longitude now features advanced VNAV along with flight model improvements, a new autothrottle and bleed air system, including pressure and temperature simulations, and improved hydraulic and electrical systems. An automated brake system has also been added.
