New future for airworthy Mosquito at Canadian home
De Havilland Mosquito VR796 is to join the aircraft collection at the Okanagan, Canada-based KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence which is due to open later this year. , The aircraft, a B.35 variant, was restored to fly by British Columbia’s Victoria Air Maintenance, and made its return to the air in June 2014 with Steve Hinton at the controls. One of only four airworthy Mosquitos, VR796 will join a Hawker Tempest Mk.II and a Douglas DC-3 at the new centre.
