Newark Air Museum gears up for Cockpit-Fest

Preparations for the 2022 Cockpit-Fest are well under way at Newark Air Museum in Nottinghamshire.

The popular event now in its 21st year, has moved back to its more traditional June time-slot; on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26th.

At this year’s event a diverse range of aviation will be represented; this includes a range of military jet cockpits and civilian types, plus several on-loan cockpits that are resident at the museum. This includes several exhibits making their Cockpit-Fest debut.

In addition, a diverse range of visiting cockpit related exhibits are also expected to be displayed around the 16-acre site; alongside an aerojumble aviation and avionics sale. Here enthusiasts and the public can search out those rare aviation artefacts, books and models (see the next issue of FlyPast for a report on a recent aerojumble at Newark).

The event is supported by a range of organisations and individuals; with all visitors encouraged to have a say in deciding the best cockpit by voting for their favourite. A full list of visiting cockpits and displays can be found on the organisation’s website
