
Niagara Falls spans the border between the province of Ontario Canada and New York State in the US. Formed by the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the combined falls have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America, with a vertical drop of more than 50m (160ft).
The scenery area for Microsoft Flight Simulator starts at the North Grand Island Bridge and ends further down the Niagara River at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Points of Interest markers have also been added throughout the area.

The Niagara Falls features custom sounds, mist and lighting effects, including Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls with animated rapids along the Niagara River.
The surrounding area comes with custom 3D hotels and casinos on the Niagara Falls City skyline and the docks on both the US and Canadian sides are modelled with tourists. These have been created with a low polygon count to ensure performance is not impacted.

A detailed model of Niagara Helicopters Heliport (CPQ3) features a handcrafted terminal and interior, as well as a hangar with interior modelling and animated doors. It also includes 13 helipads at the heliport with windsocks, lights and obstacle lighting.
