PA-31 Navajo lands at Doncaster Sheffield Airport
Over two years after Doncaster Sheffield Airport closed in November 2022, an aircraft landed on the airport’s runway on December 6. Doncaster Council2Excel was given permission by Doncaster Council to return its aircraft, PA-31 Navajo, G-SCIR, as part of a winter maintenance programme. The aerospace company has had a hangar at the airport for over a decade. It continued to carry out technical groundwork in Hangar 3 but had to relocate its flying fleet to other locations after the closure.
