Petition launched to save historic Miles Aircraft factory building
An online petition has been launched with the aim of saving one of the last surviving Phillips & Powis — later Miles Aircraft — factory buildings at Woodley, just east of Reading, Berkshire. Designed by modernist architect Guy Morgan, the distinctive art deco building was constructed during 1938 and formally opened by Sir Kingsley Wood, the Secretary of State for Air, on 27 January 1939. The headquarters building contained offices for the directors and heads of all the technical departments
