Qantas returns to continental Europe
Boeing 787-9s from the Australian flag carrier have touched down in mainland Europe. Qantas has officially returned to Rome – after a 19-year gap – thanks to new, direct seasonal rotations from Perth in Western Australia which kicked off on June 25. However, Qantas, which is the only airline to currently ply such direct sorties between continental Europe and ‘Down Under’, flew a test sortie to Rome’s Fiumicino gateway a couple days earlier. Operated by General Electric GEnx-equipped Dreamliner, VH-ZNF
