Qantas reveals A380 retirement plan amid new widebody airliner order
Australian flag carrier Qantas has today announced the final piece of its jet fleet renewal programme with the firm order for 24 widebody aircraft. The order is split between 12 Airbus A350-1000s, four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and eight -10s, with deliveries for the European-built jets expected from 2028, while the American widebodies will start to arrive in 2027. Designed to replace the flag carrier’s 24-strong active A330 fleet, the order has also been negotiated with additional purchase rights and options
