Qatar Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with its Oneworld partner Alaska Airlines, to provide connectivity between the carriers’ hubs and global networks of over 300 combined destinations.
Beginning on July 1, the agreement will initially allow the Gulf airline’s customers to book flights and connections on Alaska’s routes while the second phase will see the American carriers’ passengers able to purchase travel on all of Qatar’s flights between the US and Doha and beyond.

Currently Qatar’s US network offers over 100 weekly flights to 12 destinations including, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles and Alaska’s home airport in Seattle.
Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group chief executive, said: “This is an important step in advancing our commercial cooperation with Alaska Airlines as we welcome the newest member of the Oneworld alliance to Qatar Airways’ list of strategic partners. This agreement, combined with our existing partnerships, will help consolidate our presence in the region and provide Qatar Airways passengers travelling to and from our 12 US gateways with access to the most comprehensive network of seamless connections across the United States.”
As the two airlines are Oneworld alliance partners, the carrier’s respective frequent flyer programmes are recognised, and passengers can enjoy a range of benefits including lounge access, check-in and extra baggage allowance as well as redemption of miles across the partners networks.
Ben Minicucci, Alaska Air Group CEO, said: "As international air travel resumes, it's important to provide our guests with easier, more convenient travel options to get out and see distant places again. Qatar Airways' nonstop flights from our hubs in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles to Doha and points beyond offers our guests tremendous opportunities to visit nearly any country they want."
