RAF F-35s on QRA in Iceland
The Royal Air Force’s F-35B Lightning is currently holding NATO Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) in Iceland.This is the first time RAF F-35Bs have taken part in a NATO Air Policing mission. Four F-35Bs from 617 Squadron at RAF Marham, Norfolk have deployed to Keflavik and will remain through to early September 2024. The F-35Bs will defend NATO airspace in the Arctic Region and provide airborne surveillance and interception capabilities (ASIC) to meet Iceland’s peacetime preparedness needs.The RAF F-35B achieved accreditation
