The Barton Stacey History Group is trying to trace the relatives of five airmen who were killed in World War Two
A new memorial is being prepared and the group would love to trace descendants of the five men. The group’s Chris Coates reports: “One of our other committee members is involved with Sparshalt College near Winchester who have historic connections with five pilots killed in World War Two. We are trying to trace any descendants there may be because a memorial plaque has been agreed and they would like to invite any relatives who may be interested to the eventual memorial event.”
The five airmen are William Noel Abbott Geoffrey Charles Layley, Harry Luscombe, Richard Frank Salter, David Arthur Drew and Joseph Frederick Alexander. For more information on each, please see the photos below.
Any information can be sent to FlyPast and we will forward to Chris. flypast@keypublishing.com
