Restored Salvaged Corsair Goes on Display at Pensacola
A rare example of an early production Vought-built F4U Corsair has recently been placed on display at the National Naval Aviation Museum on NAS Pensacola, Florida. F4U-1 Corsair BuNo 02465 was rolled into the museum on October 12, 2024. The aircraft was due to be hung from the ceiling of the World War II gallery in the West Wing. The positioning of the fighter within the museum comes after a thorough restoration of the aircraft that lasted 14 years after
