Rotate MD-11 for X-Plane Released

After almost five years in development aircraft developer Rotate has released the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 for X-Plane.

The aircraft is based on the original McDonnell Douglas MD-11 freighter version, sporting realistic flight dynamics and authentic models of the General Electric CF6 powerplants with FADEC simulation.

According to the developer, the systems are simulated in detail with all redundancy and automatic and manual modes. The main systems simulation includes the fuel, hydraulics and electrical systems along with fire and system tests, pneumatic and air conditioning, weather radar, autoflight and ice and rain protection, etc. Approximately 200 custom failures are also supported. Additionally, the cockpit sports independent pilot and co-pilot controls and displays as well as independent MCDUs.

Other highlights include ten liveries, an accurate 3D model and HD textures along with external objects and animations such as aircraft loading animations, GPU (Ground Power Unit) and airstairs. It comes with animations such as cockpit windows, cargo doors, undercarriage, wing flex and engine reversers. It also sports realistic FMOD sounds effects, 3D lights and virtual reality support.
