Second UK flight for RAF’s Protector

The RAF’s General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Protector RG1 remotely piloted air system (RPAS) has recently completed its second flight in UK airspace. The flight was announced by the RAF on February 12, 2025, though actually took place on February 7. The Protector flew from RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire, the home of the service’s intelligence, surveillance targeting and reconnaissance (ISTAR) force as part of Phase 3 flight activities for the RPAS – the test and evaluation programme prior to full service with
