Continental Europe Jos Schoofs FLORENNES AIR Base celebrated its 70th anniversary as a Belgian military airfield on September 22 and adorned the fin of F-16AM FA-135 with a special colour scheme – including the 2nd Tactical Wing’s wild boar insignia and the last two letters of the airfield’s ICAO code, EBFS. In August 1947, Maj Raymond Lallemand, a wartime RAF ace, was tasked with establishing the 161st Day Fighter Wing and its constituent 351st and 352nd Squadrons at Florennes. The
