Spain fines five budget airlines €179m for "abusive practices"
Five budget airlines have been hit with a combined €179m in fines by the Spanish Ministry of Consumer Affairs. Ryanair received the largest penalty, at €108m, followed by Vueling (€39m), easyJet (€29m), Norwegian (€1.6m), and Volotea (€1.2m). The fines, announced on November 22, 2024, are the largest ever issued by the Spanish authority.
